Egid Van Der Maesen, born in Roeselare. He enlisted in the Waffen SS in October 1942 and fought in Narwa, among other places. He then ended up in the 27th SS Grenadier Division Langemarck with the regiment 67. He was captured on 1.08.45 in Kellinghusen (Germany) and transferred to the Neuengamme prison camp.
